This report updates: Isfahan's Alikhani Square case: nine executions without a transparent trial or reliable evidence

Hours after the execution of 19-year-old Amirhossein Maleki and 18-year-old Amirhossein Ebrahimi, two detainees of the Dey uprising in the Ali Khani Square case in Isfahan, Prince Reza Pahlavi's media office issued a statement on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, calling the executions "state killings". DIAR had earlier reported the details of the case and the execution of the two young men.

In the statement, the Prince's office wrote that Islamic Republic officials executed the two young men, who were among those detained in the Lion and Sun revolution, in Isfahan at dawn on Tuesday, at the time of the morning call to prayer. According to the office, the executions aim to spread terror in society, but in reality they show the regime's fear of Iran's youth.

Another part of the statement reads: "Those who ordered and carried out these crimes will be held to account before justice." Prince Reza Pahlavi's office also wrote that the names of Amirhossein Maleki and Amirhossein Ebrahimi will not be forgotten and that their blood will not have been shed in vain.

The Prince's office's earlier warnings

On Monday, 2 November, a day before the sentence was carried out, Prince Reza Pahlavi's office had warned of the imminent risk of execution facing protesters held in Isfahan's Dastgerd prison. On the evening of the same day, the families of three defendants in the case were summoned for a final visit.

The Ali Khani Square case

With the execution of these two young men, the number of people executed in the Ali Khani Square case has risen to 9 of the 14 defendants. The Islamic Republic's judiciary holds them responsible for the deaths of four special unit officers on the night of 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026) and cites the defendants' "confessions", but it has presented no public evidence. The lawyer of Alireza Sepahi, one of those previously executed in the same case, had said his client was never formally informed of the murder charge.

Prince Reza Pahlavi's office called the execution of two young men aged 18 and 19 a state killing and said those who ordered it will be held to account.
