In messages published by Prince Reza Pahlavi's media office on Monday and Tuesday, 12 and 13 October 2026, compatriots inside Iran called on Iranians abroad to turn out in large numbers in Frankfurt on 7 November, the day Prince Reza Pahlavi is to receive the Friedrich Naumann Foundation's "Freedom Prize 2026" in trust on behalf of the Iranian people.
In one of the messages, a compatriot inside the country, referring to the earlier gathering of Iranians in Munich, said: "As you created the epic of Munich, take part in countless numbers in the epic of 7 November in Frankfurt and be the voice of us, the people inside." In another video message, a patriotic Iranian inside the country said: "Our most important weapon is the Lion and Sun flag."
A Freedom Prize in the name of the Iranian people
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has awarded the Freedom Prize 2026 to the Iranian nation and invited Prince Reza Pahlavi to receive it in trust on behalf of the people. The decision met with opposition from a number of critics; in response, 1,700 Iranian doctors and specialists backed it in a letter to the foundation, writing that Lion and Sun flags and Pahlavi-related slogans are part of the documented reality of Iran's protest movement.
The link between inside and outside
The messages from compatriots inside Iran, which the Prince's media office publishes regularly, cite among the main functions of gatherings abroad: carrying the voice of people who cannot protest freely under repression, internet shutdowns and the threat of execution. In his recent speech in Toronto, Prince Reza Pahlavi had also spoken of opposition networks inside Iran and of the crumbling of the Islamic Republic's structure.
