On Monday, 2 November 2026, the Patriotic Physicians' Association of Iran issued a statement marking the birthday of Prince Reza Pahlavi, thanking him for nearly half a century of efforts for Iran's freedom. Prince Reza Pahlavi turned 66 on Saturday, 31 October.

In its statement, the association wrote that the Prince has spent “nearly half a century of his life with perseverance, diligence and hope” working to free the Iranian nation from the consequences of what it calls “a historic mistake”. According to the statement, he has faced accusations and unkindness over these years but has never stopped striving for Iran's freedom.

The signatory physicians attribute the Prince's historic standing both to his bond with Iran's late king and to his role in leading Iran's national revolution under the Lion and Sun flag. The statement says many Iranians liken him to the “third feather of the Simorgh”, a symbol of hope in Iranian culture.

The Patriotic Physicians' Association stressed that Prince Reza Pahlavi seeks no personal position for himself in Iran's future and that his focus is on returning to the Iranian people the right to choose and to determine their own destiny. The statement ends with a call for national solidarity and reconciliation without rancour, and a wish for a free and prosperous Iran. It did not publish the names of its signatories.

Birthday and the Freedom Prize

This year the Prince's birthday was marked by rallies and commemorations by Iranians inside and outside the country, and it comes one week before he receives the 2026 Freedom Prize of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation on behalf of, and in trust for, the Iranian people. According to the Naumann Foundation, the prize will be presented on 7 November at St. Paul's Church in Frankfurt.

Earlier, groups of Iranian physicians and specialists inside and outside the country, Iranian Christian clergy and activists, and athletes had also issued statements supporting the award of the prize to Prince Reza Pahlavi.
