Supporters of Prince Reza Pahlavi have asked Iranians around the world, and especially Iranians in Europe, to take part in a large rally in the German city of Frankfurt on Saturday, 7 November 2026. The day coincides with the award ceremony of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation's Freedom Prize 2026, which has been given to the people of Iran and which Prince Reza Pahlavi will receive in trust.
The call was published by the group “Javidan Guard of Iran in Georgia” together with a video message. It also asks Iranians in North America, Canada, Australia and other parts of the world to rally in their own cities on the same day, so that the occasion becomes a global movement in support of Iran's national revolution. Iranians living in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, have announced that they will join the movement. The authors of the message call it “a mission on the shoulders of each and every” Iranian and close with the sentence: “We believe that soon light will triumph over darkness.”
Freedom Prize 2026 for the people of Iran
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, a political foundation close to Germany's Free Democratic Party, announced in September 2026 that it would award the Freedom Prize 2026 not to an individual but to the people of Iran. The ceremony will be held on 7 November in St. Paul's Church (Paulskirche) in Frankfurt, the building where Germany's first elected parliament convened in 1848 and a symbol of democracy in the country.
According to Steffen Saebisch, chairman of the foundation's board, Prince Reza Pahlavi, as the best-known figure among the Islamic Republic's opponents, will accept the prize in trust until the day it can be handed over to the freely elected representatives of the people of Iran. Bijan Djir-Sarai, foreign-policy spokesman of the Free Democratic Party, will deliver the laudation for the laureate at the ceremony. The prize has been awarded every two years since 2006 in recognition of efforts for a free civil society.
Messages from inside Iran
Earlier, activists inside Iran had told the same foundation in a message that Prince Reza Pahlavi is the voice of the people of Iran. The Frankfurt rally takes place two days after the date that had been set for the Prince's visit to the Belgian parliament, an invitation that met with opposition from Belgium's foreign minister.
Iranians in Europe gather in Frankfurt on 7 November, the day the Freedom Prize 2026 is entrusted to Prince Reza Pahlavi in the name of the people of Iran.
