Residents of Sirik in Hormozgan province reported early on Thursday 22 October 2026, a few hours after explosions on Wednesday evening in Korpan, a second strike on an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps missile launcher in the heights of the area. This report follows DIAR's earlier report on the first explosions in Sirik.

According to citizen reports that reached the free media, the second strike took place at around 1:30 am on Thursday, Tehran time, and hit another IRGC missile launcher. Residents attribute the strike to US drones, but so far neither US Central Command nor any other official in Washington has confirmed it.

Claim of a strike on an anti-ship missile launcher

Israel's Channel 12 television reported that US forces in Sirik hit an anti-ship missile launcher that had been targeting ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Republic's state media also acknowledged several explosions in Korpan, Sirik, but claimed the cause was unclear, and local officials have remained silent about them.

Background

Sirik lies on the coast of the Gulf of Oman near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz, an area the IRGC has used in recent weeks to attack commercial ships. The Islamic Republic's attacks in the Strait of Hormuz targeted at least 23 ships in the first two weeks of October. On the evening of Wednesday 21 October, several explosions were also heard in Korpan, Sirik, and citizen reports indicated that an IRGC missile unit had been hit.

Residents of Sirik reported two strikes on IRGC missile launchers in less than six hours.
