A ceremony honouring the 88th birthday of Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi was held on Tuesday, 14 October 2026, near Les Invalides, in Paris's 7th arrondissement. The ceremony was organised by Fahimeh Roubiol, an Iranian living in France and a holder of the Legion of Honour.
Among those present was a former French ambassador to Iran and Afghanistan. After the ceremony ended, its flowers were laid in Paris on the grave of Princess Leila Pahlavi, the youngest child of Shahbanou Farah and Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.
Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi's birthday and messages from Iranians
The holding of this ceremony in Paris, the city where Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi has lived for years, follows a wave of congratulations from Iranians in recent days. Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi had earlier thanked Iranians in a message for their birthday wishes on her 88th birthday and expressed hope for Iran's return to an era of rebuilding and pride.
Compatriots inside Iran also congratulated the Shahbanou on her birthday in messages and spoke of their wait for the Pahlavi family's return to the homeland; messages that were published despite the Islamic Republic's security climate and repression.

This year Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi's birthday coincides with the 55th anniversary of the celebrations of 2,500 years of the Iranian monarchy, held at Persepolis in October 1971; an event that recalls an era when Iran was known in the world for its ancient culture and history.
The commemoration of Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi's 88th birthday in Paris ended with the ceremony's flowers being laid on Princess Leila Pahlavi's grave.
