Reza Mohammadhosseini, a political prisoner held in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj, warned in a message from inside the prison that executions of detainees of Iran's Lion and Sun national revolution are continuing. The text of his message was published on Monday, 12 October 2026, by Prince Reza Pahlavi's media office and the "We Will Take Back Iran" campaign.

In the message, Mohammadhosseini called the January massacre a crime against humanity and said the crime is now continuing through the execution of detainees in the Islamic Republic's prisons. He urged the international community, the United Nations and human rights bodies not to stay silent in the face of political executions.

The executions of protesters from the January uprising

The political prisoner's warning is consistent with reports from human rights bodies. On Tuesday, 13 October, Amnesty International condemned the execution of five protesters from the January uprising in one week and called for Iran to be referred to the International Criminal Court. In the same Ghezel Hesar prison, Reza Zangeneh, a prisoner sentenced to death, has been moved to solitary confinement, and the Supreme Court has also upheld the death sentence of Amirhassan Akbari Monfared, a student imprisoned in Evin.

In recent years Ghezel Hesar prison has become one of the main places of execution in Iran. Its political prisoners have repeatedly protested this trend with letters and hunger strikes in the "No to Execution Tuesdays" campaign.

Reza Mohammadhosseini's message is part of the "Last Breath" campaign, which Prince Reza Pahlavi's media office is pursuing to bring the voices of political prisoners facing execution to world public opinion.

From Ghezel Hesar prison, Reza Mohammadhosseini warned that the January massacre is continuing through the execution of national revolution detainees.
